I received charges of discrimination for the exact same employee and set of facts from both the IDHR and the EEOC. Do I need to respond to both?

The IDHR will automatically cross-file eligible discrimination charges with the EEOC and conduct the investigation for the EEOC under the terms of the agencies’ “Work-Sharing Agreement.” Some employers choose to send copies of any responsive documents to both agencies, but those are simply duplicates. A separate response and defense is not required.
