You need to offer a space where a nursing mother can privately express breast milk. However, if space is an issue, a solution such as a lock for the door, privacy covers for any windows and a privacy sign can work as a solution to make a room multi-purpose.  Ideally the room should have access to running water, a refrigerator, a microwave, a comfortable place to sit, and an outlet.  The break room may be the right solution if your employee doesn’t have her own office.  Everyone else on staff who has a key should be instructed to not unlock the door when it is closed and the “privacy” sign is in use.
